Re-opening our Saskatoon photography studio

Over 3 months ago we voluntarily closed our photography studio here in Saskatoon to help stop the spread of COVID-19, and less than a week later, it was mandated by the government. It felt like yesterday and like 5 years ago all at the same time. Since the closure, I have had a wide range of emotions. I really feel like I’m coming out of a fog. 2 months after our last session we had a client book in for one of our distancing sessions, and since slowly starting to photograph and interact with clients again, it has made a wonderful shift to lift my spirits.

You, our clients, make me feel like the luckiest gal in the world. On the ‘break’ I still photographed my kids, worked on marketing, updating the website and a million other things that I really love about this gig. But something was missing. Since interacting with clients again, something has shifted and it has made me realize what keeps me going. Getting to know your families and telling your story is what my business is shaped around and what keeps me happy.

We have never gone two months without shooting clients, and I missed you guys, truly, more than you know. I miss face to face contact and chatting on the phone (with someone other than my family). Since I don’t have co-workers at the moment, you guys are my work family. So thank you for sticking around all of these years! It’s been a pleasure to photograph you.

We are busy working behind the scenes to get the studio ready to be COVID friendly, and I thank you for your patience in getting this up and running. Finding supplies to feel well stocked is proving difficult, and we want to make sure everything is just right before we reopen.

We will be making another post of every precaution we plan on doing to keep you and your family safe. Until then, thank you for checking in.
