Lockets - Available for a limited time.

They are back!  We are bringing our LOCKETS back for a limited time, just for the holidays.

How it works: You email us a clear photo, and we print it and put it right into the locket for you, so you will have a beautiful memory to gift a loved one. If using a professional photo, we do require a signed release from your photographer. An email directly from your photographer giving us permission to use their image(s) will suffice. Please send this along with your photo if using a pro photo to avoid lag time.

We have two options:

The Monica locket: One photo, 22” chain.

Monica locket is 1” diameter

Monica locket is 1” diameter

The Margaret locket: Option for one OR two photos, 25” chain (disclaimer: the chains on our Margaret lockets are dainty.)

Margaret locket is 1” wide and 1.5” tall.

Margaret locket is 1” wide and 1.5” tall.

LOCKET pricing:

Single photo locket (available in both styles):  $39.00

Double photo locket (only available in the Margaret):  $46.00

EMPTY: $39

Shipping within Canada: Add $5

Lockets take 1-2 weeks for production.  They are only available until December 15. Any lockets that wish to be shipped out must be ordered by December 11 (we can not guarantee you will receive your locket before Christmas if you choose the shipping option). Pick up is in Saskatoon east side.

How to order: Please email us a photo you wish to use in your locket. Once your image is approved, we will forward the invoice. We require the invoice to be paid ASAP and once it’s paid we will get your locket into production. 1-2 weeks following your order, we will be in touch when your locket is ready for pick up.

Tips for choosing a photo.  Ideally, have one or two faces per photo. Any more than 2 faces and the image becomes too small and it makes it hard to see the image. If there is more than one face in the photo, faces must be touching or almost touching.  Images where two people are on opposite sides of the image will not work.  Images that are shrunk down for web use might not work. If you are unsure, please email us the image and we will let you know if it will work. Please email your photo to: mandy@memoriesbymandy.ca. Cheers!

-Orders can be placed after the session, once you have viewed your images.

-We normally do, however due to COVID-19 we are asking for you to bring something from home. Either a special Christmas ornament that the little ones can hold, or a book that the family family can read. Once you have secured your booking, we will send you a list of ‘what to bring to your session’.

We also ask that you bring your own blanket to sit on, due to being limited with sanitizing items in between clients.

New studio protocols since COVID 19 -

Re-opening our Saskatoon photography studio has been a bit overwhelming, but after taking some extra time to figure out how to sanitize everything properly, and rearranging a few things, we wanted to feel confident (and stocked with supplies) for a safe re-open.

Here are some things you can expect at the studio as mandated by Health Canada and the Saskatchewan health authority as of today. Please note things change day to day, so keep checking back on the Saskatchewan government website for the latest updates:

-We must adhere to the amount of people allowed indoors and outdoors at a time. I am included in those numbers (as well as any other staff or family members that might be present). Those that have not formed an ‘extended household’ are not allowed to be photographed within 2 meters of each other (larger groups have a larger distancing rules). This includes, but not limited to extended family sessions, family reunions and weddings.

-We are not permitted to get within 2 meters of clients, so no handshakes or hugs for a while. Yes, it feels awkward, but it’s for your safety, so something we will likely have to get used to for the time being.

-We will no longer be able to make any adjustments to your body positioning or move things like stray hair and jewelry, we will be asking you to do these things, with direction.

-We are no longer doing any meetings in person, other than the session, of course. We have also discontinued any beverage and refreshment service at the studio for the time being.

-We ask that you please sanitize your hands upon arrival into the studio, and as usual, change into indoor shoes once you get into the studio at the top of the stairs.

-We will be wearing a mask for the entire time we are indoors together. If you are sick, we ask that you please reschedule. We are not requiring you to wear a mask if you are in front of my lens.

-The entire studio will be sanitized before and after every single session.

IF you have little ones.

-We have put away stuffed animals. Children are highly encouraged to bring their own stuffies if they are photogenic (animals that are neutrals photograph best, and don’t take away from your child’s beautiful smile). If they are not, I am more than happy to purchase one a couple of weeks in advance from a locally owned shop, and have it ready in a sanitized bag, ready to handle, and add it to your invoice at no mark up. (bunnies range from $20-$45)

-We will no longer be handing out Candy (bribes). We highly suggest you have a ‘bribe’ waiting for them in the car, so we have something to leverage with if the children don’t want to participate;).

If you have any questions or concerns about anything at the studio, please don’t hesitate to ask! We can’t wait to see you!

Re-opening our Saskatoon photography studio

Over 3 months ago we voluntarily closed our photography studio here in Saskatoon to help stop the spread of COVID-19, and less than a week later, it was mandated by the government. It felt like yesterday and like 5 years ago all at the same time. Since the closure, I have had a wide range of emotions. I really feel like I’m coming out of a fog. 2 months after our last session we had a client book in for one of our distancing sessions, and since slowly starting to photograph and interact with clients again, it has made a wonderful shift to lift my spirits.

You, our clients, make me feel like the luckiest gal in the world. On the ‘break’ I still photographed my kids, worked on marketing, updating the website and a million other things that I really love about this gig. But something was missing. Since interacting with clients again, something has shifted and it has made me realize what keeps me going. Getting to know your families and telling your story is what my business is shaped around and what keeps me happy.

We have never gone two months without shooting clients, and I missed you guys, truly, more than you know. I miss face to face contact and chatting on the phone (with someone other than my family). Since I don’t have co-workers at the moment, you guys are my work family. So thank you for sticking around all of these years! It’s been a pleasure to photograph you.

We are busy working behind the scenes to get the studio ready to be COVID friendly, and I thank you for your patience in getting this up and running. Finding supplies to feel well stocked is proving difficult, and we want to make sure everything is just right before we reopen.

We will be making another post of every precaution we plan on doing to keep you and your family safe. Until then, thank you for checking in.
