Meadow Lake... a new favorite wedding destination!  Of course, we are always excited to travel to new places to shoot. This wedding really speaks for it's self!  Thank you for having us along:).

One lucky bun in the oven - Saskatoon photographers

I first met these two a few years ago when they were looking for a wedding photographer.  We hit it off instantly.  From that first meeting they've always felt like old friends that you don't see often, but when you do, it's so natural.  We photographed their engagement session as well as their wedding.  Mom-to-be emailed me when she was 12 weeks along asking about availability for maternity/newborn photos.  Of course, I was so excited for them to be welcoming their first baby at the end of April!  As their previous sessions before this, they were naturals in front of my camera.  The fondness they share for each other is something to be admired.  This baby is so lucky to call these two mom and dad. 

On a side note, this session shows of our new studio beautifully!  We only used natural light for this one and love how the images turned out.  I just wish we would have gotten into the space sooner:).

What:  Spring Flowers PRINCESS SESSIONS

When:  Saturday, April 2 & Sunday, April 3

Where:  Memories by Mandy Photography Studio, downtown Saskatoon

How much:  $99 includes a 25 minute session and free framed 5x7 print.  Additional prints/products available for purchase.   

The details:  We are hosting another round of princess sessions with a 'SPRING FLOWERS' theme!  We have two super cute sets for the little princesses and we couldn't be more excited!

What age are these sessions for?
7 months (baby must be sitting on their own), to 9 years old. 

What should I bring?
We ask that you bring along a white, pink or black t-shirt, tank top or body suit, as well as leggings or tights.  We supply all of the accessories to transform your little princess: The tutus, headbands, crowns, and jewelry.  Your princess will have two outfit changes and will be photographed on two different sets.

I'm not available on the date you posted, could we do it another day?
Unfortunately, these sessions are only offered for one weekend only.

How much are the sessions and what is included?
The session fee is $99 (plus taxes) and includes a 25 minute session as well as a free framed 5x7 print.  We have also created some custom packages that can be ordered if you wish.  Some of the things included in our packages include a 4x6 faux leather brag book, 2 lockets (one for the princess and one for her queen), as well as digital files.  Packages start at $249.  We will also have some a la carte products available.

Where are the princess sessions photographed?
The princess sessions take place at our new, beautiful studio right here in downtown Saskatoon.

What do I need to do to book?
We require the full session fee to reserve your timeslot ($99).  All session fees are non refundable in the event of no shows or cancellations.   

If I want to order a package, when do I order?
If you wish to purchase additional prints/products, we ask that you please make an appointment for an ordering session.  We do all ordering sessions within a week or so following the session.  Please book the ordering session at the time of booking your princess session.  We do require a minimum $100 investment if an ordering session is booked.  If you are out of town, please let us know, and we would be happy to accommodate you! If no ordering session is booked, your photographer will choose your free print.   

I have 2 (or more) princesses, can they combine their session?  Please contact us to discuss our options for sister princesses.

family photography - Saskatoon family photographers

You may recognize this family from my previous post.  This gorgeous mama was one of the bridesmaids in the wedding I just posted previous to this.  She called me up and asked if I was available to do their family photos last fall.  I was sooo excited to capture their adorable little girl, who was the flower girl, along with her mom and dad.  They are all so photogenic.  I really wish fall last longer... it's so darn pretty! 

A fairytale wedding at The Glen at Crossmount, Saskatoon

Where do we even begin with this wedding?!  Gosh, it was a good one!  The bride was stunning, the groom/groomsmen are British (that means they are a blast, hilarious, and don't stop cracking jokes all day), the bridesmaids were sweet (a nice contrast from the guys, lol), and the flowergirl completely stole the show!  At 2 years old walked down the isle by herself like it's something shes done 100 times.  I have never met a more confident, smart, not to mention gorgeous little girl.

The ceremony was at Mayfair united church here in Saskatoon.  Once the ceremony was finished we headed outside for a group photo.  A tradition the groom organized, and I love.  We went to a few different locations around town, then headed back to reception.  The Glen at Crossmount is a beautiful venue for anyone wanting a unique location for your special day.  The couple had it decorated beautifully, with some really amazing/personal touches.  The speeches were hilarious and the first dance as husband and wife gave me goosebumps. 

It really was the perfect day!  Sometimes i have to pinch myself to remind myself that I'm not dreaming.  This is what I get to do for a living!  Here is a small sample from their special day.  I CAN NOT wait for wedding season again!   

Models wanted...

Now that we have a studio, we have so many ideas we want to try out, which means we need models! We are looking for the following:

 1. A trendy child (or siblings) with an afro. (Between ages 3-16)

2.  A little girl with freckles. (Between ages 4-9)

3.  A mom with her kids

4.  A dad with his kids

5.  A baby girl, who is sitting but not yet crawling.

6.  A photogenic family.  Minimum 4 people.  (sorry, no extended families)

A few prerequisites:

-We have very specific plain clothing requirements that we will need our models to bring to their session. Most will likely have something in their current wardrobe, but may need to purchase something.  Current styles are a must! 

-We have a very specific look in mind.  Please email us with a photo and age of your child(ren) along with which category you are submitting them in. (If you will be in the parent sessions, please include an image of yourself as well.).  Bonus points if your child is wearing a trendy outfit in their submission photo.  Please email submissions to:  memoriesbymandy@shaw.ca

-All sessions will be done in studio free of charge.

-All models/parents MUST be willing to allow us to use their images in our portfolio, which includes all social media outlets.

-We are looking for models who are NOT camera shy.

-Only the models chosen will be contacted for their sessions.  As we mentioned earlier we have a very specific look in mind for these sessions.  If your child was not chosen, please keep an eye on our page for future models calls! 

-Most sessions will be photographed on March 5-6.

Big news....

We are moving into a studio space! After (almost) 9 years in the business, we are so excited to announce that we are moving our business out of our home and into an established (and amazingly gorgeous) studio right here in downtown Saskatoon. 

Joi Photography has graciously opened her doors to us and we cannot wait to start photographing families in the space!  If you haven’t heard of Joi photography, you must be living under a rock (just kidding... sort of).  She is an incredible Boudoir photographer here in Saskatoon with a really amazing studio space.  We haven’t offered boudoir photography in years, so we will continue to refer boudoir clients to her.  (If you are ever thinking of doing a boudoir session, you must check out her website, she is the queen bee of boudoir photography here in Saskatoon!) 

If you would like to get out of the cold for your family session (my specialty), and into a beautiful studio with 100 year old hard wood floors, I am your gal!  We decided to make the leap to a studio because let’s face it, who wants to be outdoors in our Canadian winters?  This will give us the opportunity to bring your fun family session indoors, into a beautiful space, to showcase your beautiful family.  We will still be offering on location photography at no extra charge, so you will be getting the opportunity to take advantage of the best of both worlds!  I am so excited for this next phase in our business and we can’t wait to share it with you!  We are going to be hosting some really fun events coming up, so if you would like to be added to our mailing list to hear about them, please email us directly:  memoriesbymandy@shaw.ca.
