A rustic fall family photo shoot in Saskatoon

This mom booked her fall session back in May!  And I'm so glad she did.  The original date we decided on was a really cold, windy, stormy day, so we rescheduled for a week later and we ended up with the most gorgeous evening.  She had envisioned a rustic backdrop combined with pretty fall colors, so I did some location scouting to find the perfect spot here in Saskatoon for her family photo session.  I LOVED every minute photographing this family session!!!  And I'm so in love with the location... I will be sure to come back and use it for sure!

Not your average 60 year old - Saskatoon photographers

For her 60th birthday she wanted to do a fun photo shoot with her besties.  I have never done a Saskatoon photography session like this so I wasn't too sure what to expect, but it might go down as one of the funniest sessions I've ever done!  This group of women were a BLAST!!!  Each and everyone of them out-witting the next, and constant joking, there was never a dull moment!  Thanks for having me out ladies!!!!  You are all beauties, inside and out.

Thank goodness for our Saskatoon photography studio!

Throw back Thursday to this session I shot when we just moved into our Saskatoon photography studio.  I can't wait to have somewhere warm to shoot that is simple and stunning all winter long.  We have a few fall sessions still available and are booking into the chillier months.  Once I'm all caught up with editing, I will be posting some of the sessions we have been working on.

Prints vs. Files - Saskatoon photographers

Did you know we offer a wide variety of products, including digital files and prints? We have a lot of clients order wall portraits from us along with the digital files... some do it for the convenience, some do it for the quality, and others do it for the extra retouching! The first image is straight out of camera and the second is the extent of retouching we do when you purchase a wall portrait through us.

Beautiful baby girl - Saskatoon photographers

This couple first graced our camera a few years ago, when we shot their engagement session!  We have since shot their wedding and now newborn photos here in Saskatoon.  I'm actually a tad bit behind with posting, as they just brought their beautiful baby girl into the studio for her 3 month photos last week.  She is so beautiful, and lucky to have such wonderful parents!  I honestly can not say enough good things about this little family.

Meet the newest addition to the family... their gorgeous baby girl!

The value of a photograph - Saskatoon photographers

I saw a quote a month or two ago and it said...

"You never really know the value of a photograph until long after it's taken."

This sits with me on so many levels. Not only do I think about this all the time with my sessions, it hits so close to home with my personal photos.  This is the reason I get my family photos done every year.  This is a shot of my girl and I, a few years ago, at our annual family session.  I love the wrinkle in her nose, and me looking adoringly at her.  I know when she gets to my age, she is going to cherish this photo even more than I do today.  She's not going to see my double chin, or my wrinkles, or my crooked nose.  She's going to see the connection between her and I, and how stinkin' adorable she is.  She might even see her own kids in her squinty smile, and laugh at how ugly my jacket is.  What I do know, is she will look back at this photo, long after I'm gone and it will be worth so much more in years to come, than it was the day it was taken.

Mom and me - Saskatoon Photographer

Right before Mother's Day, we had a promotion on for 'Mom & Me' sessions, which came with a pedicure from Just for You Day Spa as well as a super sweet swag bag... this mom took advantage of our package and came into the studio with her adorable princess for their mom and me session.  We got so many gorgeous shots!!!  I think this little girl is going to cherish these images in a couple of decades.  I would die to have images like this of me with my mom *cough* 30 some years ago *cough*.
